Batik Tote Bag Workshop with Deon Best

We are excited to welcome back Brampton artist Deon Best to PAMA, this time for an exciting tote workshop. Be inspired by the florals found in the Art Gallery exhibition In Her Garden as we explore the East African fabric art of Modern Batik.

 

Batik is an art form that uses wax and dye to create designs on fabric. Discover this amazing technique and design your own one-of-a-kind batik tote bag! In this workshop, participants will learn the basic techniques of batik. No prior experience necessary and all materials will be provided. Join us for this exciting opportunity to learn a new art form.
This program is for ages 17+. Space is limited to ten participants, registration is required. Public: $60 (includes general admission), Members: $51. All supplies are included. A 30-minute lunch break will be included. You are welcome to bring your own lunch. There are also local restaurants in Downtown Brampton. 

 

Deon Best is a multidisciplinary Brampton artist with a background in Graphic Design, Digital & Traditional Art. Deon Best’s portfolio covers a wide range of artistic mediums, including his main focus - Modern Batik Art. As an Artist & Instructor, Deon Best has taught over 500 students across Ontario through numerous art workshops, classes & camps. As the premiere Modern Batik artist in Canada, Deon Best has taught Modern Batik to all ages and skill levels over the last twelve years. Utilizing his talents for charitable works and the positive empowerment of students through art is a passion for Deon. Come join the adventure!
