PAMA is excited to welcome back Brampton artist Deon Best for a workshop designed to bring vibrancy to the grey and brown of early spring. Explore the East African fabric art of Batik as you create unique dyed hoop art – designed to hang in your window and spread colour into your home.  

Batik is an art form that uses wax and dye to create designs on fabric. Discover this amazing technique and design your own radiant decoration. In this workshop, participants will learn the basic techniques of batik. No prior experience necessary and all materials will be provided. Join us for this exciting opportunity to learn a new art form.   

 

Registration is required. $30 + HST for general registration, $25.50 + HST for members.

About the Artist: Deon Best is a multidisciplinary Brampton artist, instructor and a master Modern Batik creative in Canada. Over the last decade Deon Best has successfully facilitated over 100 art workshops and classes, he has also taught over 600 students from all ages and diverse backgrounds. Inspired by his heart-led nature and genuine passion for connecting with people, Deon Best is deeply committed to creating moments that inspire creativity, celebrate diversity and build community.
