About Carla: Carla Gonzalez-Casanova is a multidisciplinary artist, singer-songwriter, visual artist, and graphic designer. She began her artistic journey in Canada in 1995 when she arrived to pursue studies in Fine Arts.
Carla's passion for music started at the age of seven, and she has been performing ever since. After settling in Toronto, she expanded her creative practice by writing lyrics and composing original music.
Today, Carla works as an instructor with Visual Arts Mississauga and the Hispanic Canadian Arts Organization, while also maintaining an active freelance career in the arts. She is deeply committed to community engagement and regularly performs for senior communities, bringing joy, connection, and entertainment through live music. Her performances feature a variety of genres, including jazz, Latin, and popular classics, encouraging participation and creating meaningful experiences for older adults.
In addition to her visual arts practice, Carla is the founder and lead vocalist of Latintrain, a band she established over 12 years ago. The group was born from a desire to celebrate and preserve Latin American cultural roots while embracing and integrating the diverse influences of Canadian culture. Through music, Latintrain creates vibrant and engaging performances that bridge cultures and bring communities together.

About Latintrain: Latintrain is a Mississauga based band formed 11 years ago by a few talented individuals who shared the love to promote their South-American roots through music, collaborating to create a perfect mix of songs that take the listener on a journey to our colorful lands.
A vibrant melting pot of Latin rhythms such as Bolero, Cha-Cha, Son, Salsa, Cumbia and more with a pinch of jazz, with lyrics both in Spanish and English, Latintrain’s goal is to engage all audiences and create a big party ambiance celebrating life and sounds anywhere they go.
For the past years Latintrain has been playing all around the GTA, proudly representing their roots and spreading the latin vibe in festivals like, Carabram, Carassauga, Coubrough Latin Festival, Panamerican Jazz Festival, Bread and Honey Festival, Inti Raimy and many more.
